Open Practices

Open Practices are supervised, but uninstructed time for students to practice the skills they have learned in their classes, workshops, and/or private or semi-private lessons. You must have experience or be currently enrolled in classes on the apparatus you are booking to practice on. We are happy to host visiting professionals and students from out of town studios. If you are new to our studio, please reach out prior to booking and attending Open Practice and let us know about your experience. Brass Butterflies reserves the right to refuse access to Open Practices for any individual we feel has not demonstrated the ability to train safely in an independent environment.

If you are booking to practice on a specific apparatus for which there is limited availability, please email the studio after booking to confirm availability of your desired apparatus. Supervising instructors will make adjustments to your apparatus height for you during practice, but generally you should plan to train on only one apparatus per one hour practice. Your reservation in Open Practice guarantees you use of one pole or aerial point only.

Pre-registration is required for all Open Practices.   A minimum number of registered students are needed for these sessions to run, though management may choose to run practices with low registration at their discretion. Please see our studio policies about class cancellations.
